Katherine is a Specialist Immigration Lawyer - 專業移民律師.

Katherine’s family immigrated from Guangzhou, China to New Zealand 35 years ago. She was born in Taranaki and has lived in a number of cities and towns across New Zealand.

Katherine has applied for visas to visit, study and work in many countries around the world (including China, Russia, Tajikistan, and Vietnam to name a few). Having travelled extensively means she can easily build relationships, relate to her clients, and holds special insight into the challenges migrants face when coming to New Zealand.

Kross Legal Nz is a specialist immigration law practice. Katherine is the Director and has a number of years' of experience practising exclusively in immigration law. 

Katherine has assisted businesses of varying sizes across a number of industries with their immigration related queries (including Employer Accreditation). She specialises in immigration compliance (including dealings with the Labour Inspectorate) and has worked closely with Human Resource Managers to audit employment-related documentation and immigration policies to ensure ongoing immigration compliance. 

She has assisted both offshore and onshore individuals and their families with all stages of the visa application process, represented clients in the District Courts and Immigration and Protection Tribunal, and has helped clients when facing deportation proceedings. Where language is a barrier, Katherine is able to converse and advise Chinese clients in Mandarin or Cantonese where appropriate.

    Katherine’s ‘why’ on studying law was simply to try and make a positive difference to New Zealand. She established her own legal practice with the vision of helping skilled individuals and businesses solve their immigration matters so they can in turn make a positive difference to New Zealand. Katherine’s clients’ choose her because she is personable, approachable and has significant specialist knowledge in the field of immigration.

    Kross Legal Nz support New Zealand charities whose mahi is to do good for Kiwis. 2% of your legal fees will be donated a Kiwi charity which is trying to make New Zealand better. For 2022, donations will be made to Mountain to Sea Conservation Trust - Experiencing Marine Reserves, a national programme dedicated to educating communities about oceans by providing hands on experiences with our marine environment.

    Each successful visa applicant receives a ‘Explore your backyard - #Supportlocalbusiness’ booklet’. These are designed personally by Katherine and suggestions are inspired by her own travels around New Zealand.
